Should I buy a Cheap Gaming Chair?

There are different kinds of gaming chairs available in the market, from a cheap gaming chair which can cost up to $200 to the expensive one which can cost up to $700. And when it comes to gaming chairs people like to keep them as budget-friendly as possible, and most of the time people end up getting a cheap one.

But there are some things that you should look out for when picking up a budget gaming chair, what are the things that you can make a compromise on, and what are the things that you absolutely want to avoid?

Since you’re investing in a gaming chair and not in a standard office chair. It’s certain that you’ll be sitting in that chair for a lot of hours. So before picking any budget gaming chair you should always look for the one that’ll be supporting you throughout that time.

Difference between cheap and expensive gaming chairs

The main difference that makes an expensive chair better than a cheap gaming chair is the support provided by the chair. Ergonomics is one of those things that you miss out on when going for a cheap gaming chair over a more expensive option, and that means you might have to compromise on decent padding, adjustable armrests, neck, and lumbar support cushions.

One more thing that is common in cheap gaming chairs is that they come in mid-height variants too, so you have to aware of that too. Ideally, you want a full-height backrest that will support the spine throughout a gaming session.

Mostly cheap gaming chairs have an ultra-soft seat and are made from cheap packing foam and you should avoid chairs like that, what you need is something with little firmness to actually cradle your behind.

Should I buy a cheap gaming chair?

If you’re someone who only sits for an hour or more and only buying a gaming chair for the look then a cheap gaming chair will absolutely deliver that, but it’s also about what’s underneath that faux leather exterior. Going for the cheap gaming chair will mean that you get a frame that can’t stand the enthusiastic exertions of a heated gaming session or a seat with padding that either offers no support or melts away within months.

Alternatively, if you’re someone who doesn’t care about the look, then you can definitely find decent office chairs, with far more ergonomic designs.

But there are also some cheap gaming chairs available in the market that won’t kill your spine, before buying just make sure you’re not compromising too much on the ergonomics of your seat.
